Things I'm Learning

Hello,

I am not very good at maintaining a blog. Oh well.

Moving to Virginia and starting grad school has taught me a lot. Here's a partial list of the things I've learned thus far:

  • Thrashing and lurching is an important stage of the novel-writing process.
  • You should not put aluminum foil in the microwave.
  • The people in this program--my friends--are extraordinary.
  • Leaving that guy was a very good thing, and I'm glad I left him.
  • Not every novel looks like a novel.
  • Kroger is amazing.
  • It's important to take a break from writing every once in a while.
  • I'm incredibly lucky.
